SUBINSO NO.2-NCHIRAA Fight: Chief Calls for Gov’t intervention

The Kontihene of Subinso No.2, a suburb of Wenchi Municipal in the Brong Ahafo region, Odeneho Nana Osei Yaw has called on government to intervene in a fight between the youth of Subinso No.2 and Nchiraa over the Subinso No.2 market day.

Some weeks ago, the youth of Nchiraa angrily disclosed that, the market which has been hosted by Subinso No.2 over the years must be transferred to Nchiraa otherwise, they ( the youth of Nchirraa) won’t allow the Yam Growers especially the Dagaatis to trade at Subinso No.2.

To this end, the angry youth of the area have mounted barriers on the roads to prevent the Traders to sale at Subinso No.2 during market days.

To avoid bloodshed, the Kontihene of Subinso No.2 Traditional Council, Odeneho Nana Osei Yaw is calling on the government and MUSEC to act swiftly into the issue to curtail the germinating havoc.

Nana Osei expressed his disappointment in the Wenchi Municipal Assembly for their failure to ensure peaceful settlement of the matter.

On the other hand, traders have also threatened to stage a massive demonstration against authorities if the case is not solved for them to ply their trade peacefully to better their Life.

It was gathered that this angry youths of Nchiraa believe that the market day will one day be transferred from their land so they don’t want the people of Subinso to win the heart of the traders and the Yam Growers from Nchiraa.
