Mrs. Linda Obenewa Akweley Ocloo the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shai Osudoku has declared her intention to create more jobs for the youth in the area.
In an exclusive interview with the TNP NEWS, she noted that ‘’it is sad to see the teeming youth coming out from schools roaming aimlessly without finding meaningful jobs to do’.
To address the situation, Mrs. Ocloo said she granted soft loans to over 1,000 people under the Shai Osudoku Cooperative Credit Union (SOCCU).
‘’I also provided 500 pieces of hand sewing machines to seamstresses, 300 industrial sewing machine to tailors across the Constituency”, She noted.
The MP also said she donated tricycles to Micro Entrepreneurs and assisted in selected Constituents to be employed in institutions including the on-going Railway Project.
On education, Mrs. Ocloo said 440 students have benefited from her educational support.
‘ I also provided counterpart support to five PHD students to study abroad’’, She pointed out.
Mrs. Ocloo further indicated that she provided 10,000 cedis to the District Education Directorate to acquire dual desks for selected school across the Constituency.
She also provided desk top and laptop computers to selected schools in the area.
