A group calling itself the Coalition of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Women Group at Koforidua Zongo in the Eastern Region has declared their support for the former president John Dramani Mahama ahead of the 2020 general elections.
Addressing NDC women at a meeting held in Koforidua Zongo, the convener of the group who doubles as the NDC former Deputy Eastern Regional Women organizer, Hajia Salamatu Abu, said the decision to throw their weight behind the former president Mahama for the 2020 elections is the massive infrastructure development his administration has executed within a short period of time.
Hajia Salamatu explained that Mahama administration had laid the infrastructure projects for the country to take off as a middle income country. As a result, she said jobs were created through increased economic activities brought about by the infrastructure development.
According to her, some NDC women who  were not able to come out and vote during the 2016 elections are now prepared  to support ,John Mahama candidature for the 2020 polls.
Hajia Salamatu said that all the NDC women have agreed to adopt house to house campaign strategy to canvass votes for the former president John Mahama and the NDC to ensure victory in the 2020 elections.
“We are 100 percent prepared to go all out in the zongo communities in the region to start explaining the NDC campaign message to the electorates for change of NPP government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to improve the living conditions of the people”, she stated.
She indicated that , the NDC will be better off under  John Dramani Mahama as the 2020 flagbearer, and will ultimately win power in the upcoming 2020 elections.
“We all know what is happening today, as business men and women struggle to make earns meet because of the bad leadership of NPP government who came to power under campaign lies to Ghanaians”, she said.
Hajia Salamatu therefore cautioned all presidential aspirants to eschew acts that have the tendency to divide the party ahead of the 2020 polls.
“As we advocate for all former and in coming executives to come together and work hard for victory in 2020 elections and we the NDC women have been very faithful and committed to the party”, she stressed.
She commended the rank and file of the NDC in the region and National at large to remain united and work together as one family with a common destiny to ensure that NDC win the 2020 elections.
Hajia Salamatu thanked Mr J. K. Okyere popularly called Antartic construction firm and former chief of staff, Mr Julius Debrah and all the new and old executives for their commitment and dedication to the NDC party over the years.
