The Overlord of the Dagbon Traditional Area, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II has debunked rumors making rounds that he is dead.
There have been wild claims on some social media platforms suggesting that the newly installed Ya-Na had died.
The rumours succeeded in creating some uneasiness in his kingdom and in some quarters.
Even though Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II has been out of public limelight for sometime, he has been forced by the serious nature of the rumours to publicly speak on the matter.
He has stated emphatically that he is in good health and very much alive.
In a video available to 3news.com, Ya-Na was heard addressing his Elders about the issue on Tuesday, April 16.
The Overlord of Dagbon declared that he was not afraid of dying, assuring his subjects that he was not dying soon.
He stressed that he will live long enough to lead the people of Dagbon.
He therefore entreated the people of Dagbon to disregard rumours about his death and rally behind him to make Dagbon prosper.
Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II was enstooled in January at a colourful ceremony after years of dispute leaving Dagbon without a Ya-Na for about two decades.
