The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority in Parliament has rejected government’s 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy read in the House by the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, last week.
The Majority side of the house walked out on Friday, November 26, 2021, after an initial voice vote did not go in their favour but their walkout did not prevent the House from continuing with the business of the day.
However, Ghanaians are delighted about the rejection of the budget especially the e-levy tax component.
On 23rd July,1981, for the first time in the parliamentary history of this country, a government budget was also rejected and failed to gain approval.
