The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited have commenced processes towards the construction of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Storage Terminals in some parts of the country.
The terminals that are to built on Build-Operate-Transfer basis is to be located at Tema, Takoradi, Kumasi and Buipe.
The establishment of the terminals would help address inconveniences associated with transportation of bulk LPG via road transportation.
To make the process transparent, BOST has started advertising for International Competitive Tendering (ICT), inviting companies with expertise and financial muscles to come on board.
Interested entities are to provide feasibility, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, BOT services for the LPG terminals.
Highly placed source at BOST has it that the project was very important that the company would look out for the best entity to undertake it.
“The tender process has started and will close on July 8, 2019 and we will continue with the process from there,” the source said.
The source said that BOST will strictly adhere to best international practices as the project was the first of its kind.
“BOST is mindful of the risk involve in transporting LPG via road and we are moving all out the rid our roads of such inconveniences,” the source said.
