Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North in the Eastern Region has united her constituents through sports in the Promotion of Unity and togetherness for development.
This maiden edition of the tournament was spearheaded by the hardworking Deputy Youth Organizer and his team which had a Cash prize of Ghc 1,000 and a Trophy saw teams like Riverside Academy, Zion(Island), Ada Ntatea (Island), Ademmra, Kwaekese and High Spirit participating.
The colorful tournament crowned Adeammra as champions, as Zion became runners up.
All the six (6) participating teams received a set of jersey, football and an amount of money as feeding fee for their involvement.
Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, used the occasion to remember the seven (7) young people who lost their lives in December 2018 whiles they were on their way to Agordeke Beach to enjoy the Christmas.
She iterated that it is the determinant factor in her decision to initiate an annual Football Gala to keep the Youth Engaged and put them into productive use.
The MP advised the youth to take their education serious because education plays a vital role in whatever endeavor they would like to be in the future.
She also used the occasion to caution the men to stay away from the teenage girls to allow them achieve greater heights in life.
To this end, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah urged members to be each other’s keeper to help the development of the constituency adding that ‘United We Stand, Divided we Fall’.
